Ingredients for the Bacon Cinnamon Rolls
The Icing & Topping
Easy Step By Step Directions
In a large bowl, stir 2 cups of the flour, 1/3 cup granulated sugar, the salt and yeast with a spoon until well mixed. In a 1-quart saucepan, heat the milk over medium heat until very warm . Add the warm milk, 1/4 cup butter and egg to your flour mixture. Next, beat with an electric mixer on low speed about 1 minute, make sure you stop frequently to scrape batter from side and bottom of bowl its best to use a rubber spatula for this. Beat on medium speed 1 minute. then, stir in enough of the remaining flour, about 1/2 cup at a time, until your dough is soft and leaves side of bowl and is easy to handle. It might be sticky but not to sticky is perfect.
I like to use a cutting board but you can use a countertop also. Sprinkle flour down. Then, place dough on floured surface. Knead the dough moving in a circular motion and continue until it is fully kneaded. Cover bowl loosely with plastic wrap; you will want to let rise in a warm place for about 1 hour 30 minutes or until the dough looks like it has doubled in size. You will know that the dough is ready if an indentation remains when you press your fingertips about 1/2 inch into the dough.
Next, in a small bowl, mix 1/2 sugar, brown sugar and the cinnamon together and set aside.
Butter the bottom and sides of a 13×9-inch pan and sprinkle flour lightly on a countertop or large cutting board. Pull the dough away from the side of the bowl, and place it on the floured surface
Now the fun part flatten your dough into a 15×10-inch rectangle. Spread the 1/4 cup butter over dough close to the edges. Then, sprinkle with sugar-cinnamon mixture.
roll dough up tightly and pinch edge of dough into the roll to seal edge and cut roll into 15 (1-inch) slices. Place slices slightly apart in the pan. Cover pan loosely with plastic wrap; let rise in a warm place about 30 minutes or until dough has doubled in size. Remove plastic wrap.
Heat the oven to 350°F. and bake 30 to 35 minutes remove and cool
add icing mixture and Wright® bacon pieces while still warm and melty
