Bruno & Dampier
Southern Plantation Wedding
Melissa & Chad spent the night before the wedding with their bridal party at Ashburn Hill Plantation. Melissa started her morning preparing with her bridesmaids. The girls had their hair & makeup styled at the salon. Later they joined Chad, his groomsmen, and their guests at the Dampier Family Lodge for the ceremony. Chad and the wedding party took their places at the altar, as Melissa made her grand entrance down the aisle in her stunning Stella Yorke wedding gown. It was there in front of their closest family and friends … the couple shared their vows, exchanged rings, and were pronounced husband and wife (with their sweet pup Maddie by their side!)Melissa & Chad chose the Dampier family lodge in Moultrie, GA as the perfect location for their sweet ceremony under the big oak tree, and their lakeside wedding reception. They danced in to the evening on the on the romantically lit patio, enjoying the variety of craft beers that Chad personally brewed for the their happy event.IN THE WORDS OF THE BRIDE & GROOM:What 3 words would you use to describe your wedding theme or decor?Earthy, simple, & beer inspiredIs there anything else you would like to communicate with us? :)One of our themes is “Love is Brewing” for our love of craft beer. There will be 9 different craft beers at our wedding, 7 of which were brewed at our home. Also, we are treating this day as our wedding though it is also a vow renewal for our first year being married. It will be just over a year since we had our private ceremony. But no one has seen us exchange vows. How and where did you both meet?At a mutual friends apartment in 2012. He was going out for the evening with the roommate of the friend I was hanging out with. He came up the stairs, and I saw him. What were your initial thoughts/impressions when you meet each other for the first timeI liked his tattoos and thought he was so handsome! I specifically remember his button down shirt and that he had beautiful eyes.He knew he had caught my attention, and thought I was “very pretty”(A man of few words!)Describe the proposal What a long story….haha. we had discussed getting married and decided to elope, basically. The day we got legally married, he got down on one knee before we said our vows. We had agreed to get married without rings, (we couldnt afford that at the time, and I was ok with waiting) so I was completely blown away and shocked and cried. He even said “will you marry me”. It was funny because we were ALMOST legally married when he did it. Of course I was going to marry him! But I still got a real proposal. He truly blew me away.Describe the wedding planning process I’m so glad it’s over. Worth it, of course, but I’m ready for the day.How did the bride choose her dress?Thank God for pinterest! I found ideas of what I wanted and went to a boutique in Melbourne that carried the designer I liked. I tried on 9 gowns but purchased the first one I ever put on that same day. It’s beautiful. How did you chose your venue? What made you fall in love with the location? It’s Chad’s family vacation home that his grandfather built. We have spent many weekends over the past 4 years coming up here with his family doing some of our favorite activities. We always leave the Georgia home feeling happy and relaxed. I thought it would be very special to have a Dampier wedding at the Dampier family home. God willing, our children will come to that home for family trips too, and we will be able to look back and remember our wedding day. Describe the wedding day. I’m hoping it’s an amazing time for EVERYONE! I want to “Eat, Drink, and be Married” – the theme of our wedding!Describe the ambiance of the wedding reception, d?cor, food, special touches and special moments. Outdoor wedding with a natural feel. We enjoy the outdoors and didn’t want to overload the decor with flowers. We wanted romantic, simple, and earthy. We are offering fairly traditional wedding food options with a little southern twist, in respect to it being a Georgia wedding. The most special thing about the wedding is that we (mostly Chad) brewed most of the beer for the wedding. It’s taken a lot of time and we put a lot of heart into it. Describe overall feeling at the end of the wedding day.Relieved, happy as ever, tipsy, in love, blessed, grateful?
